Construction Management (CM)

Construction management is the process of planning, coordinating and providing monitoring and controlling of a construction project. This style of project management is designed for the, as the name implies, construction industry. There are few types of construction that use construction management, they are industrial, civil, commercial, environmental and residential. Each category has its own way of running projects, but all will follow the construction management methodology.

Project Implementation Plan (PIP)

Successful Project planning requires a common understanding of project objectives, including quality, cost, schedule, and sustainability criteria. It culminates in a project plan that documents this understanding. The project plan acts as the blueprint fo project implementation and contains all the information needed for successful project delivery.

Project Initiation Phase

A project is formally started, named and defined at a broad level during this phase. This include Project Charter.

Project Planning Phase

A project management plan is developed comprehensively of individual plans for – cost, scope, duration, quality, communication, risk and resources.

Project Execution Phase

A project deliverable is developed and completed, adhering to a mapped-out plan. A lot of tasks during this phase capture project metrics through tasks like status meetings and project status updates, and performance reports.
